Bard
The following changes apply to Bards from 2nd edition rules.
1. Bards will use a mana pool to cast spells. see section V for details.
2. Bards may learn weapon specialization, but cannot learn mastery or weapon focus.
3. The Bard ability from the player's handbook "Counter Song" is removed as a standard ability.
However, similar affects can be created or found by the bard to delete enemy bard buffs and
debuffs.
4. Bards can begin with a choice of three of the seven spell songs below. the player may choose
three and only three of these seven to begin their career. This helps determine what kind of bard
they are going to be. These spell songs are semi magical in nature, and must be activated with
singing, chanting, Whistling, or an instrument of the bard's choice. These spell songs cost 1d4 mana. these affects are over time where appropriate, and do not have to be channeled. Once a choice is made, the choice cannot be changed. Details on the starting spell songs are as follows:

* Limitations: 1) allies must be able to hear the song.

* Targets: The number of targets equals 1d4 ( +1 per 4 levels). targets are chosen by the bard.

* Targets: The number of targets equals 1d4 ( +1 per 4 levels). Targets are chosen by the bard.

spell song activation.
2) This spell song can reveal traps, ambushes, astral travelers, or other
anomalies.
3) this spell song can only be used once per day.
* Targets: This spell song affects a 30 cubic foot area, + 1 cubic foot per level.
1) Cause the opponent's spell to automatically fail. Mana and spell
components are still burned.
2) Force the enemy spell caster to spend twice the maximum mana to cast the
spell.
3) Cause the enemy's spell to do absolutely minimal or marginal affects.
* Duration: One round.
* Limitations: 1) Bard rolls 1D4. 1 thru 3 represent the the effect caused. A roll of 4 allows
the bard to choose an effect.
2) The bard must win initiative over the target spell caster.
3) The bard must have spell craft in the target's magic type (Arcane, song, or
divine).
3) this spell song can only be used once per day.
* Targets: any caster type can be affected, so long as the bard has the appropriate spell
craft.

* Duration: One turn.
* Limitations: 1) Bard must successfully make a wisdom check at a minus 4, in addition to
spell song activation.
2) This bard must be out of combat.
3) the target must from zero to negative 10 hit points, but not below.
4) This bard must continue to play the spell song to continue the effect. It is not
cast and forget.
* Targets: This spell song affects a single target for up to 1 turn (10 non combat rounds),
while others get help.
5. in addition to the above starting spell songs, bards can learn other healing, buff, debuff,
utility, or crowd control spell songs. These spell songs are bard specific, and are activated
from their singing and instruments.
6. Bards gain 4 free non weapon proficiencies which vary based on kit. In addition to these 4
starting proficiencies, bards also gain one artistic ability, and one additional musical
instrument proficiency as a class proficiency.
7. In addition to the 2 slots above, Bards gain the Read/Writing non weapon proficiency as a free
slot. If Read/Writing is included in their kit, bards may choose any of the suggested
proficiencies for their kit as a free slot as a replacement to their read/writing class free slot.
8. like the thief, the Bard gains a new trade skill; - Guile. See the description for guile on the

- Rally Allies:
* Affect: (Buff) - inspires allies with a Plus one per 4 levels onto all target ally game mechanics.
* Limitations: 1) allies must be able to hear the song.
2) Incapacitated allies cannot benefit from this song.
3) allies can benefit from this spell song only once per day.
* Targets: The number of targets equals 1d4 ( +1 per 4 levels). Targets are chosen by the bard.
- Sabotage Concentration:
