7. Healing aptitude. Non Templar Priests gain a class feature called, "Healing Aptitude". This class
feature gives the priest an opportunity to perform bonus healing, based on their spell check, or
healing proficiency check.
a) Proficiency healing aptitude.
* If a non templar priest has the healing non weapon proficiency, and they roll half of their
required target number or better, they can add half of their level as additional healing
(rounding down).
* The non templar priest can improve their target number by 1, for every additional proficiency slot
spent on the healing proficiency.
* If the non templar priest also has the herbalism proficiency, healing from the healing proficiency
becomes 2d4, as opposed to 1d4.
B) spell healing aptitude.
* spell healing aptitude requires the non templar priest to have access to the healing sphere.
* if the non templar priest casts a healing spell from the healing sphere, they have a chance to
do additional bonus healing.
* if the non templar priest rolls half of their required target number or better, they can add their
full level as additional healing.
Example: An 8th level priest wishes to cast cure light wounds on a friendly target. the priest has a wisdom score of a 16. As such, the priest will need to roll a 15 or less to successfully cast cure light wounds. if the priest rolls a 7 (rounding down) or less on their spell check, they will add their level to the healing done. Cure light wounds does 1D8+1 to healing. If the priest rolls a 7 or less, the healing will be 1D8+9.
NOTE: Bonus healing can only be performed if the priest does a dice roll. Priests do no need to roll spell or proficiency checks out of combat. however, if they want a chance to earn bonus healing, the will have to roll.
